Miss Mary Kate Hastings

Teacher for Jump’n Jig, Performance Company, & Youth Programs

Mary Kate Hastings, TCRG, has been dancing since age 4. She started with ballet and tap and immediately fell in love with dance. She quickly progressed in her technique and performance when taking instruction under Sophia Schoch-Wyzgowski, TCRG, in 2012.

Mary Kate received her TCRG with the World Irish Dance Association after passing the exams in June 2018. She is in the process of taking the grade exams through An Coimisiún Le Rincí Gaelacha (CLRG). She will eventually sit for the TCRG exam again through CLRG. She has performed in many lead roles for An Irish Nutcracker and with the Shannon Irish Dance Company. She teaches the Jump’n Jig and Youth programs. She is also a Shannon Irish Dance Academy Delegate for the United Irish Societies of Detroit.

Mary Kate is a graduate of Oakland Community College with an Associate of Applied Science in Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA). She brings her love of Irish Dance and culture to the public when she performs and teaches. She takes great pride in all her students, celebrating their successes and teaching perseverance when faced with frustration or defeat. She is a calm presence and a dedicated hard worker who brings much value to our team.
